Canadian Peter Broome has been bestowed one of the PGA of America’s highest honours.

Last week, the Montreal native was conferred as an Honorary Member of the PGA of America during the organization’s 109th annual meeting at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Frisco, Texas.

The longtime Acushnet executive is only the 13th person to receive that distinction.

A former PGA of Canada member, Broome joined the likes of past U.S. presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Gerald Ford and George W. Bush; legendary touring professional Gary Player and the late golf writer/broadcaster Tim Rosaforte on the roll call of recipients.

Broome was elected by PGA of America delegates in August for “his outstanding contributions to the game of golf and for decades of support to PGA of America golf professionals.”
